The 'Authentic' Brand & Why Marketing and HR Should Partner
Presented by: Mike Ryan, Senior Vice President, Marketing & Strategy
October 29, 2013 at 8:30 AM EDT
A strong and respected brand is one of the most valuable assets a company has. Marketing leaders invest millions on building (and protecting) their brand’s reputation. But while most businesses allocate resources to the external marketplace they have largely ignored internal audiences. When you consider that the authenticity of any brand is dependent on the company’s employees, and that satisfied customers are worth significantly more, this is a missed opportunity for any business. The authenticity of any brand—its perception of being genuine, legitimate and trustworthy—is directly dependent on the willingness of the company’s employees to act and deliver in a manner that is consistent with customer expectations. This presentation will outline the influence employee behavior has on profits and outline why HR represents an untapped alley to marketers looking to strengthen their brand’s reputation and authenticity within the marketplace.

Knowledge Workers and How a Properly Structured Rewards and Recognition Program Maximizes Their Potential
Presented by: Mike Ryan, Senior Vice President, Marketing & Strategy
Thursday, March 21, 2013
11:30-1:00 PM EDT

It is said that results improve when motivation meets ability. As some learning and development leaders are discovering offering a core curriculum—no matter how well developed—may not be enough to sustain behaviors over time. Instead progressive training managers are finding that a combination of personalized communications, targeted learning and performance related incentives is the combination that drives the best outcomes.
In this session attendees will hear:

-
The business rational for incorporating rewards and recognition into your training process.
-
How integrating external measurement will focus customer facing employees and sales personnel on competencies that improve the customer’s experience.
-
How a segmented communications and award strategy drives behavior more effectively.
-
How recognition can spark the innovative use of new skills.
-
How a properly designed inter/intranet portal can help you align training with desired behaviors and outcomes and do so efficiently.

Doing More With Less: Reexamining the Business Case
for Employee Recognition

The pressure to do more with less continues to guide corporate thinking. And too often, the focus centers on the “with less” mandate. This interactive session shows how a properly designed recognition initiative (like the case study from Siemens US) can indeed “do more” by reinforcing values and culture, creating a seamless manager experience, enhancing corporate compliance, and delivering a highly relevant and motivational message to employees. When “intent to leave” among high-potential employees is so high, improving the efficiency of recognition can help HR leaders accomplish more and strengthen their role within the C-suite.
