CASE STUDIES > A GLOBAL PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FIRM

Expertise in technology and fulfillment enabled a global recognition platform with significant reductions in areas most affected by attrition.

Challenge:
A global professional services firm with a presence in over 50 countries was grappling with significant attrition at critical business sites. The firm needed to deploy a global solution to recognize high performing employees in a way that was consistent with corporate values and consistent across all corners of the globe.

Our Response:
Madison built a manager-to-peer/peer-to-peer recognition system designed to increase employee engagement and reduce attrition. The recognition process was intimately linked to key corporate values, with additional job level-aware coaching to ensure alignment between the selected criteria and the business outcome being recognized. Award creators were given access to a library of notification options including certificates and e-Cards. The budgeting process was built specifically around the fluid nature of a consulting organization.

ELEMENTS OF THE PLATFORM INCLUDED
A streamlined peer-to-peer and manager-to-peer recognition process
An e-Card library leveraging brand-compliant images and messages
Criteria coaching customized to the recipient’s division and role
Comprehensive, country-by-country activity reporting
A completely flexible budget system for a fluid reporting structure
RESULTS
Significantly reduced attrition rate in countries with greater than 40% attrition
Heavy use of point-free recognition awards given peer-to-peer demonstrates an embracing of recognition culture
Notification system allows award creators to ensure that all functional supervisors are aware of the recipient’s achievements
Ability for managers to transfer budgets directly fits with corporate culture, reduces administrative burden on program managers
Linking of awards to corporate values ensures consistent message to employees
93% of employees rated the program as a “good” or “excellent” tool for recognizing high-performers within the organization
